Risa (pronounced ‘Rye-sa’, but if pronouncing it Ree-sa makes you happy, we’re OK with that!) is a Catalina 42, Mark II. She is a very comfortable cruising ship. She sails well (at least when the wind exceeds 12 knots!) She has been our family boat since 2002. We have enjoyed many summer cruises on her. One recurring issue has been power.
Named for the vacation planet in Star Trek (TNG), famed for its perfect weather, beautiful people, drinks with umbrellas and always an adventure! Where but on Risa would a family of Trekers want to spend their vacation?
